First, ice skating at Port Jefferson Ice Rink. A beautiful, non-windy day to skate outdoors. Click HERE to see them skating. |
Cousin Claudia came over on the Port Jeff ferry from Conneticut. She was very brave and did a sleepover with Alice for her birthday party. |
Talk about brave! Amelia was barely skating and falling down loads at the start of the skating, and by the end, she was zipping around by herself. |
The requisite cupcake decorating. While we skated, Gracie was so excited about the next cupcake decorating phase of the party that she would zip around the ice, from girl to girl, asking each what candy she'd put on her cupcake. Click HERE to see them decorating. |
The party lunch table, decorated. Alice's requested spaghetti and meatballs were served. |
The famous, generous Nanny and Papa, hosting the girls with grace and fun |
Happy Birthday Alice! was sung |
I kid you not, she stuck the entire thing in her mouth! One gulp. Next episode: Gracie swallowing whole goldfish pledge week. |
Hot Tubbin like back in the 70's! |
What? Is that sprinkler play in January? Alice completely lucked out and the girls went wet and wild! |
Girls running through the sprinkler then back to hot tub then sprinkler then hot tub then... |
Reminds me of Charlie's Angels. These girls love the hot tub! |
Fun for kids (but oppressive for adults)! Fun 4 All is an indoor amusement park Alice selected for Phase 4 of her birthday party. |
Alice Party, Phase 6: Homemade gelato. All girls were wiped out and just sat staring at the tv on the wall at the gelato store, eyes glazed over. |
Times Square for Alice's birthday gift of sushi and a show! |
Times Square police department |
Sushi! |
Abraham couldn't keep his paws from hugging the birthday girl, repeatedly. |
Spiderman on Broadway! |
Alice's favorite birthday dinner of her choice - twice-baked potatoes |
Daddy-Alice dance party, makes Alice so happy |
Then upstate with cousin Dylan and kittens |
For yet another birthday celebration! |
Grammy and Harvey's celebration with a castle of a cake for Alice |
It was good to be Alice turning 8 |
Alice's blog: I really liked making cup cakes, going ice skating, and going to Fun 4 All. I really like making and eating the cupcakes. My friends are Claudia, Gracie, Amelia, and me. I love all of them, especially me (haha!). When I got sushi before seeing Spiderman on Broadway, it was hard to try new things because I was so excited about seeing Spiderman. I thought it would not be so scary, but it really was scary, big and loud. At school, I brought in Brownies and everyone sang Happy Birthday, I couldn't get the smile off my face, and Mom and Dad took a million pictures! Click HERE to see Alice's class birthday party.
